Seedborne Soldiers is now available on Steam in Early Access. It started as a hobby project during the pandemic and I worked on it for five years, learning a variety of skills along the way. Transitioning from a writer to a multifaceted game developer was a challenge, and I’ve proven that I don’t give up.
I filled a variety of roles on the team: game designer, UX/UI designer, developer, musician, writer, and project manager. I managed my business partner, the engineering lead, as well as several contractor visual artists. This experience (along with a previous job at a startup) has prepared me to work flexibly and adapt to any situation. I find the way to add the most value, and then I do it.

Game design
I maintained a detailed spreadsheet as the primary design document. This is the backbone of the game that supported all team members’ work.

I also maintained a variety of smaller “offshoot” design docs for specific tasks, like visual effects (VFX):

Music
I composed music for the game in a style reminiscent of 90’s Final Fantasy games. Here is a playlist with my songs:
Creative writing
In my writing for Seedborne Soldiers, I kept the tone light while still invoking the player’s sense of discovery and adventure.
